A-Backs: B+

For the first time in a long time it appeared that a-back rotation for the Yellow Jackets made a huge contribution offensively. With the a-backs not seeing their normal workload since TaQuon Marshall has taken over the starting duties, the a-backs had a great day against the Bulls on Saturday.

Clinton Lynch was the star of he show for the Yellow Jackets picking up 111 receiving yards on the day over three receptions. He also picked up a touchdown on the day. He was the first Yellow Jacket to have over 100 receiving yards since Ricky Jeune in 2015.

Senior a-back Qua Searcy started his day of well contributing in both the passing game and rushing game before he had a pivotal fumble in the fourth quarter that really switched the momentum in the game. He ended up finishing the day with 91 total yards on five touches (two receptions and three carries).

Nathan Cottrell didn’t have a huge day for the Yellow Jackets seeing little playing time. The redshirt junior had four carries for 20-yards while adding a single reception for six-yards to his total.

Perhaps going forward, the Yellow Jackets will try to get the a-backs more involved in the offense but Saturday’s performance for the a-backs was a good start.
