Quick Hit #2: Strong special teams day

The Yellow Jackets special teams had their best day of the season against Bowling Green. Kick returner Juanyeh Thomas was phenomenal in the kick return game, returning three kickoffs for 62-yards. He also had one kickoff return for a touchdown called back due to a penalty.

Wesley Wells took over the placekicking duties and did great when it came to extra points which shouldn’t be a considered a highlight but with the kicking performances so far this year, anything is a plus. He went  -for- in the game on extra points.

Pressley Harvin III only had one punt on the day and it was a boomer, traveling 53-yards and landed inside the 20.

Overall, it was a day that the Yellow Jackets needed special teams-wise. It should be a confidence-boosting performance by the team overall. It is worth noting that Bowling Green was in the top half of the country when it came to special teams efficiency according to ESPN FPI.

That being said, one of the highlights of the game was a pick-six by defensive lineman Anree Saint-Amour who caught a deflected pass just a few steps away from the end zone for an easy score.
