Georgia Tech put together a second straight complete team performance on Friday as they defeated the Louisville Cardinals 66-31 to get back to .500 on the season.

Offense: EVERYBODY

TaQuon Marshall may be the obvious choice here after rushing for over 175-yards against the Cardinals but the truth is, everyone on Friday night played well against Louisville. The Jackets offense as a whole was phenomenal, scoring on all nine of their true possessions while rushing for over 500-yards. Four different Yellow Jackets rushed for over 50-yards and both quarterbacks TaQuon Marshall and Tobias Oliver had over 100-yards. When your offense puts up 500+ yards on the ground and eight rushing touchdowns, there’s not one player that stood above the rest because that is the definition of a complete team performance. Massive props all around from the Jackets offensive line to even Ohmari Jarrett who had one carry on the night.

Defense: Juanyeh Thomas

No one player really stood on defense against the Cardinals but it was a solid night throughout the game by the Jackets defense as a whole. That being said, there was one play that stood out more than any other and that would be the 95-yard pick six by Juanyeh Thomas. The true freshman corner out of Florida dropped a would-be interception just a few plays later before jumping a route and ending up with a pick six. Thomas has looked solid defensively throughout the season and his game on Friday night was just another reminder of his true potential.

Special Teams: Wesley Wells

This one was pretty easy as it seemed Wesley Wells truly locked down the starting kicking job on Saturday night. The walk-on nailed his only field goal attempt on the night, a 41-yarder and went 9-for-9 in extra point attempts. It was a much-needed performance by the freshman kicker. Now, the only question is, “Can he be consistent from game to game?” If so, then the Yellow Jackets finally have their answer at kicker.
