Georgia Tech Football: TaQuon Marshall, Parker Braun earn ACC weekly honors
Georgia Tech quarterback TaQuon Marshall and offensive lineman Parker Braun have earned ACC weekly honors for their performances against Louisville.
This past Friday night, Georgia Tech dominated a struggling Louisville Cardinals team, running away (quite literally) with a 66-31 victory. Thanks to their tremendous efforts, two Yellow Jackets have earned recognition from the ACC for their performances.
TaQuon Marshall:
Georgia Tech quarterback TaQuon Marshall had his best game of the season on Friday night against the Louisville Cardinals and has been awarded for his effort. The senior quarterback rushed for over 100-yards for the third time this season against the Cardinals, rushing for 175-yards and two touchdowns on 23-carries.
Marshall on the season now has 557 rushing yards for the season and nine touchdowns. His average of 5.0 yards per carry is a tick above his average from a year ago when he averaged 4.6 yards per carry. Currently, Marshall is on pace to rush for just under 1,200-yards for the season and 18 touchdowns.
Parker Braun:
Braun earned ACC offensive lineman of the week honors for being one of the key offensive linemen in the Jackets overall performance on Friday night. The Jackets rushed for 542-yards against the Cardinals and once again Braun was arguably the best of the bunch.
Pro Football Focus also recognized Braun for his performance naming him to their offensive players of the week and graded his performance as an 81.6
Going Forward:
Marshall and Braun will look to repeat their strong performances from week six as the Yellow Jackets prepare to take on the Duke Blue Devils on Saturday afternoon at 12:20 pm. The Yellow Jackets opened as field goal favorites but the line quickly shifted to a -1.5 in favor of the Jackets.
