The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets have a new breath of fresh air in their season after winning each of their last two games in blowout fashion. On Saturday, the Yellow Jackets will look to take the next step in salvaging their season as they look to get their conference record to .500 with a victory over the Blue Devils.

Duke entered the season with high expectations and through the first four games of the season this year, the Blue Devils were playing their best ball since 2015 when they were last ranked. The Blue Devils then took on Virginia Tech two weeks ago and did not look the part of a top 25 team. That being said, the Blue Devils got a much needed week off last week and had an extra week to prepare for the Yellow Jackets.

Last year, Duke defeated the Yellow Jackets 43-20 after scoring 23 unanswered second-half points. The Blue Devils gained 500-total yards on the day and had over 300-yards on the ground. The Blue Devils didn’t totally shut down the Yellow Jackets offense but were able to stifle the Jackets who struggled immensely through the air, completing only three of 14 passes.

What they did last week:

Georgia Tech: 33-21 win over Louisville

Georgia Tech dominated Louisville from start to finish last Friday night in an impressive victory. The Yellow Jackets lead by TaQuon Marshall’s best effort of the season put up 60+ points for the second straight game and had over 500+ rushing yards on the night. It was a dominating effort and a much-needed effort for the Yellow Jackets to get back to .500.

Duke: BYE

The Blue Devils were on a bye week after losing to Virginia Tech the week before which was a deflating loss for the program, to say the least after being ranked for the first time since 2015. Now, the Blue Devils will look to get back in the win column against the Yellow Jackets.

Odds and Predictions: Georgia Tech (-2.5)

Georgia Tech has covered the spread in two straight weeks but this week will present the toughest game of this three-game stretch. The Yellow Jackets opened as a three-point favorite for this Saturday’s matchup against Duke but the line shifted to -2.5 in favor of Georgia Tech by Saturday morning. When considering the common thought that home field is worth three points, the Jackets are actually an underdog as game time draws near.

Here’s Yellow Jacked Up’s predictions for today’s game.

Dylan Callaghan-Croley: 31-27

Lee Cagle: 42-30

Anthony Hartwig: 31-27

As you can see, all three of our predictions are a consensus in terms of a Yellow Jackets victory. Overall, we expect the Jackets offense to continue their success against the Blue Devils but there will be more struggles against Duke than the Jackets have encountered over the past two weeks. The Yellow Jackets defense will be one of the biggest keys to victory on Saturday, it won’t be easy but with a few key stops, the Yellow Jacket offense should have just enough to get the job done on Saturday.
