After a dismantling of Virginia Tech last Thursday, Vegas isn’t giving the Georgia Tech football team a ton of credit this week as they face a weak North Carolina Tar Heels team.

Despite having dominating performances in each of their last two road games, the Georgia Tech football team isn’t getting much love from the oddsmakers in preparation of the Jackets game this upcoming weekend against the North Carolina Tar Heels (1-6, 1-4).

According to Oddshark, the Yellow Jackets opened as just 3.5-point favorites over the struggling Tar Heels whose only win this season came against Pittsburgh. The Yellow Jackets, on the other hand, are coming off a 49-28 win in Blacksburg, two weeks before that, the Jackets dominated Louisville in a 66-31 victory.

Since the betting odds were released, the line has moved in favor of the Yellow Jackets, making them 4.5-point favorites. The money line is currently at -196 for the Yellow Jackets. ESPN’s matchup predictor gives the Yellow Jackets a 75.9% chance at victory.

To be fair to the oddsmakers, prior to the Jackets last two road games, the team had struggled on the road for most of the last two seasons. Including losing their first two road games of the season to South Florida and Pittsburgh. The Jackets also lost their last two games in Chapel Hill and will be looking for their first win at North Carolina since 2012.

All-time, the Yellow Jackets lead the series with a 29 to 20 advantage in the win column which includes last year’s 33-7 victory. Paul Johnson is 6-3 against the Tar Heels during his tenure on The Flats.

The Yellow Jackets and the Tar Heels are set to kick off at 12:15 at Kenan Stadium in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
