There’s going to be some prime time football at Bobby Dodd Stadium on Saturday.

Prime time football at Bobby Dodd will happen in 2018 as it was announced on Sunday the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will take on the Miami Hurricanes at 7 pm next Saturday at Bobby Dodd Stadium. The game is also set to be Tech’s annual whiteout game for Tech students and fans. The game will be televised on ESPN2.

The Yellow Jackets this season have played on primetime television twice, both on the road against Louisville and Virginia Tech. Both games resulted in dominating victories by the Yellow Jackets.

It will be the first night game at Bobby Dodd since last October when the Yellow Jackets defeated Wake Forest 38-21. The Yellow Jackets are 3-3 under the lights at Bobby Dodd since 2015.

Heading into Saturday’s game, the Yellow Jackets are winners of four of their last five after starting the season 1-3. The Yellow Jackets over the five-game stretch have at one point or another dominated at times in the four wins including three complete-game efforts against Bowling Green, Louisville, and Virginia Tech.

The only loss in the stretch was 28-14 loss to Duke, a game that the Yellow Jackets played well enough to win if the offense would have had any traction.

Miami, on the other hand, is struggling and struggling mightily. The Hurricanes are losers of three straight after starting the season off 5-1. The Hurricanes are a mess offensively especially at quarterback and it seemingly appears to have no end in sight. The Yellow Jackets defense will have to take advantage of the dumpster fire that is Miami’s offense.

Overall, the Hurricanes are 5-7 in their last 12 games dating back to last season’s final week when Pittsburgh spoiled a perfect regular season. That being said, the head coach of Miami is Mark Richt, who has never lost a game at Bobby Dodd Stadium and has owned the Yellow Jackets over his coaching career.

Something will give next Saturday night, will it be the Yellow Jackets struggles against Mark Richt lead teams or will it be Miami’s offensive struggles and losing streak. Only time will tell and we’ll find out next Saturday night under the lights of the always beautiful Bobby Dodd Stadium for the 11th matchup between Paul Johnson and Mark Richt.
