5) Jose Alvarado isn’t ready to be a leader offensively…yet

Perhaps it was too much to expect Jose Alvarado to take a huge step up offensively this season. Last year, but so far this season, Alvarado is contributing much at the same level that he did a year ago. Don’t get this wrong, Alvarado is doing a great job for the Yellow Jackets but if the Yellow Jackets really want to have a shot at a .500 record this year and any postseason tournament, they’ll need him to take a step up going forward. The 11.6 points per game is a good start but if he can push it closer to a 15 point average, it would help greatly offensively for the Jackets.

Alvarado is a leader of the team no doubt and on defense, he’s as good as it gets at point guard. But until he takes that next step offensively, the Yellow Jackets are going to struggle agianst quality opponents on offense.
