The 2018 regular season is over and we’re just days away from finding out where and who Georgia Tech will be playing in this year’s bowl season.

The Yellow Jackets are set to play in a bowl game for the 9th time in 11 seasons under head coach Paul Johnson but where will the Yellow Jackets be playing next month? Here’s what the experts are projecting;

Athlon Sports:

Athlon has the Jackets going to Shreveport, Louisiana to take part in the Independence Bowl against Lousiana Tech. The Jacket last played in Shreveport in 2010 when they took on Air Force, falling by a final score of 14-7.

Bleacher Report:

Bleacher Report has the Jackets being sent out to play in Detroit where they would take on the Minnesota Gophers. The Jackets have never appeared in the Quick Lane Bowl. Minnesota would provide an interesting matchup and the Gophers are coming off a recent rivalry win over Wisconsin.

CBS Sports:

CBS Sports has the Jackets in the Military Bowl with their opponent being the Temple Owls. The Owls started off the season slowly but won three straight to finish off their campaign at 8-4.

ESPN:

The worldwide leader in sports has two different projections for the Yellow Jackets. The first has them destined for the Music City Bowl with a projected opponent of Mississippi State. The Jackets last played in the Music City Bowl in 2013 when they lost 25-17 to the Ole Miss Rebels. The Miss. State Bulldogs will present a challenge for the Jackets as the Bulldogs finished the regular season with the nation’s best defense.

The second projection has the Jackets making a trip to Annapolis to take part in the Military Bowl against USF. It would be the first time the Jackets played in the Military Bowl and the matchup would be a rematch from week two of the regular season. The Bulls handed the Jackets their first loss of the season back in September 49-38.

Brett McMurphy is going with the same idea as Athlon Sports is above as he’s sending the Jackets to Shreveport to face off against Louisiana Tech. Not exactly the most exciting bowl game or matchup for Tech fans.
