Game 12: 45-21 loss to Georgia

What happened:

From the start, the Yellow Jackets were dominated by the Dawgs. Georgia got out to a quick 14-0 lead before a Juanyeh Thomas kick return gave the Jackets a glimmer of hope but from there the Dawgs never let up and were up 38-7 at halftime. The Yellow Jackets offense struggled throughout the game and only put up points late in the game after Georgia pretty much called off their “dawgs” on defense.

In retrospect: This game is still pretty fresh so it’s hard to say in retrospect what the game signified for the Yellow Jackets. But overall, I would say this game showed that the Yellow Jackets are going to continue to struggle against elite programs due to the talent disparity. Prior to the loss to Georgia, the Jackets had their best stretch of football that we’ve seen since 2016 and possibly even 2014. The Jackets may pull out a victory here and there but it doesn’t seem like they’ll be on the same level consistently anytime soon, if ever again.

Conclusion: Like the Clemson game, fans would hope the Yellow Jackets could have a chance against the Dawgs but in reality, they never stood a chance.
