Game 4: 49-21 loss to Clemson

What happened:

For the first 15 minutes or so, the Yellow Jackets were staying with the Tigers. At the end of the first quarter, it was 7-0 Clemson. Unfortunately for the Yellow Jackets, Dabo Swinney decided to substitute Trevor Lawrence in for Kelly Bryant and the Tigers never looked back. Offensively, the Yellow Jackets truly didn’t get it going until Clemson began to play their third string players (and beyond). Clemson actually got their entire traveling roster into the game.

In retrospect:

You can’t really bash the Yellow Jackets a ton for this loss in real time and in retrospect. Clemson is a truly elite program and is one of a handful of programs that can call them so. They are simply on another level in terms of coaching and talent compared to other programs such as the Yellow Jackets. The Tigers went onto finish the regular season with a 12-0 record and will face Pittsburgh in the ACC Championship game next weekend. You’d like to see the Yellow Jackets be more competitive in these situations but not much can be done about that without building a stronger pool of talent.

Conclusion:

An expected loss and a game that the Yellow Jackets never truly had a chance in due to talent disparities.
