Geoff Collins is officially off and running as Georgia Tech’s head football coach and here are three recruits that fans should keep an eye on down the stretch.

TE Dylan Deveney

As most know by now, Geoff Collins first offer to a tight end and Techs’ first tight end offer in 11 years to New Jersey’s Dylan Deveney. The Rutgers commitment attends The Hun School which is located in Princeton. Currently, he’s ranked as the 26th best player in the state of New Jersey and the 54th best tight end in the country.

At 6-foot-6, 245-pounds Deveney is a nice big target for a tight end and while he appears to be a borderline FBS level type player, potentially flipping him this late in the cycle would be a good get for the Yellow Jackets. Deveney will take an official visit to The Flats this weekend after being offered by Geoff Collins on Sunday.

S Amir Richardson

This one is pure speculation from me personally but I wouldn’t be shocked if Collins looks to get Amir Richardson on campus in the upcoming weeks. The Morgantown, West Virginia native was committed West Virginia until this past weekend when he decommitted from the Mountaineers.

Overall, Richardson has 13 scholarships offers and was offered by Paul Johnson and the coaching staff prior to Johnson’s decision to step down. Geoff Collins is also familiar with the three-star safety as he offered Richardson when he was at Temple.

With Richardson opening up his recruitment again in the last few days, the Yellow Jackets will have time to recruit him as a February decision at this point looks more likely than not.

CB Kenan Johnson

The Florida corner is coming off an official visit to The Flats this past weekend and on Monday he announced his decommitment from North Carolina. According to his 247Sports profile, Johnson is scheduled to take a visit to UCF this weekend and it wouldn’t be surprising if his recruitment came down to Georgia Tech and UCF. The Jackets were a late riser in Johnson’s recruitment, only offering him last month.

For Johnson and Richardson alike it seems likely that the Jackets would only take one commitment from one of them. It will be interesting to see which player decides first and if the coaching staff would be interested in taking commitments from both.
