2020 four-star wide receiver Josh Downs released his top nine schools on Sunday night and among the selected few is Georgia Tech.

It’s never too early to get started on the 2020 recruiting class and Georgia Tech has found themselves among the selected few for four-star wide receiver Josh Downs. The 5-foot-10, 165-pound Downs is ranked as a top-350 player in the country, 68th best wide receiver, and 33rd best player in the state of Georgia in the 2020 class.

Downs, a Suwanee (GA) native and a member of the North Gwinett football program released his top nine on Sunday night. The Yellow Jackets are one of three ACC schools to be on the list joining North Carolina and North Carolina State.

The list also includes two blue blood programs in Michigan and Ohio State. Kentucky, Nebraska, Oregon, and West Virginia fill out Downs’ top nine. You can see his full Twitter announcement below.

Currently, Downs’ 247Sports crystal ball has Michigan and North Carolina State as the two favorites to land Downs though only two crystal ball predictions have been put in so far.

The Yellow Jackets being included in Downs’ top nine is noteworthy especially since the Jackets offered Downs’ just last Monday (December 10th). He was one of the first players offered by new head coach Geoff Collins.

The Jackets still have room to make up against other teams in his top nine and especially Michigan and North Carolina State but with no decision, timeline announced so far, the Jackets could still have over a year to convince Downs’ to come to The Flats.
