National Recruiting Predictions

Nationally, there is still a boatload of top recruits that have yet to announce their college decision. Here’s a quick preview of notable five stars and four-star prospects who have yet to decide. All rankings are the players national overall ranking according to 247Sports.

  • #4 DE Zach Harrison (5★)
    • Choices: Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State,
    • Prediction: Ohio State

Harrison has been hard to read for his entire recruitment but it seems Ohio State has made a late surge to take back over in his recruitment. The top player in the Buckeye state is staying at home.

  • #5 RB Trey Sanders (5★)
    • Choices: Alabama, Georgia, Florida Texas
    • Prediction: Alabama

Sanders has been everywhere it seems over the last few months but in the end, Alabama will be the big winners in the “Trey Sanders sweepstakes”.

  • #6 WR Jadon Hasselwood (5★)
    • Choices: Georgia, Miami
    • Prediction: Georgia

Hasselwood technically won’t announce his commitment until the All-American Bowl but we believe this former UGA commitment will circle back around and land with the Dawgs.

  • #9 DT Ishmael Sopsher (5★)
    • Choices: Alabama, LSU
    • Prediction: LSU

Sopsher for the longest time was thought to be a heavy LSU lean before Alabama had a bit of a rally. However, it now seems that LSU is the choice for the nation’s top defensive tackle.

  • #10 OT Darnell Wright (5★)
    • Choices: Alabama, Tennessee
    • Prediction: Tennessee

The five-star out of West Virginia has already held Tennessee highly it seems and it looks like Jeremy Pruitt will out-recruit his old boss Nick Saban for Wright.

  • #14 ILB Nakobe Dean (5★)
    • Choices: Alabama, Georgia
    • Prediction: Georgia

These Alabama-Georgia recruiting battles are only getting more common. Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs, however, will win this one but the war will rage on for a long time between these two power programs.

  • #20 OT Evan Neal (5★)
    • Choices: Alabama, Miami
    • Prediction: Alabama

The rich get richer, Neal to Bama.

  • #29 WR Kyle Ford (5★)
    • Choices: Oregon, Washington, USC
    • Prediction: USC

USC usually doesn’t allow five-star wide receivers from nearby to leave and we doubt that will happen with Ford.

  • #38 CB Tyrique Stevenson (4★)
    • Choices: Georgia, Miami
    • Prediction: Miami

The Miami native won’t announce until the All-American Bowl but we think Mark Richt convinces Stevenson to stay at home and play for the Hurricanes.

  • #39 ATH Quavaris Crouch (4★)
    • Choices: Tennesse, Clemson, Michigan
    • Prediction: Tennessee

Crouch’s recruitment has always had one conistent, Clemson. That being said, Tennessee has seem to have made a good impression on Crouch of late and it may be enough to beat out the Tigers.

  • #40 CB Chris Steele (4★)
    • Choices: USC, Florida, Oregon
    • Prediction: Florida

The California native was committed to USC for a while before decommitting in October. It’s rare for a decommit to go back to their commitment and we’ve already predicted it once with Hasselwood. That being said,  I’m predicting Steele signs with the Gators.

  • #41 OLB Henry To’oto’o (4★)
    • Choices: Alabama, Oregon, Washington
    • Prediction: Alabama

I honestly don’t know a ton on To’oto’o so I’m just going with the consensus favorite for him.
