Georgia Tech new coaching staff is continuing their non-stop recruiting as they offered 2020 cornerback Malachi Moore on Monday night.

Georgia Tech’s new coaching regime has seemingly non-stop on the recruiting trail the last few days since the dead period stopped and that continued on Monday night. While they look to finish 2019 recruiting class, the coaching staff is also looking forward to the 2020 recruiting class. On Monday night, the Jackets sent out an offer to 2020 cornerback and Alabama native Malachi Moore.

Moore, a 5-foot-11, 171-pound corner out of Hewitt-Trussville High School is ranked as a top 125-player in the nation and top-15 corner in the 2020 recruiting class. With that being said, Moore is also committed to the defending SEC Champions, the Alabama Crimson Tide.

According to Moore’s tweet, the offer was extended by Georgia Tech’s newly hired offensive line coach and former Alabama assistant Brent Key. Key has been offering a ton of former top Alabama targets and commitments since joining the Tech staff last week. According to his 247Sports’s profile, Key was Moore’s primary recruiter at Alabama.

The offer to Moore once again shows that the new Georgia Tech regime is not going to back down from any recruiting battle. That being said, the old Georgia Tech regime deserves credit where credit is due. Paul Johnson and his staff weren’t afraid to go up against top programs, unfortunately for them, it usually didn’t work out. Perhaps, that will begin to change at some level with Geoff Collins and his staff. But only time will truly tell and the on-the-field product will ultimately play a role in that as well.

The Jackets also recently offered another 2020 cornerback committed to Alabama in Stephenson High (Stone Mountain, GA) corner Javier Morton. The Jackets will have uphill climbs with both Moore and Morton but getting involved at this point in their cycle will at least give them a chance over the next 10-12 months.

The Yellow Jackets, however, will look to win one major recruiting battle in the upcoming weeks over the likes of Alabama, Georgia, Penn State, and TCU in the race for three-star tight end Brett Seither.
