One of Georgia Tech football’s top targets Jamious Griffin has decommited from North Carolina State and will sign his letter of intent with the school of his choice on National Signing Day.

Arguably Georgia Tech’s top remaining target in the 2019 recruiting class has opened up his recruitment just a few weeks prior to National Signing Day. The four-star running back out of Rome was committed to North Carolina State since May 21st and has taken several visits over the past few weeks as he figures out his recruitment.

One of the schools he’s visited the most has been Georgia Tech, making numerous trips to The Flats. The other school that appears to be in the race for Griffin is the Auburn Tigers where Griffin took an official visit to last weekend.

Overall, Tech seems to be sitting in a very good place right now for the Georgia native and possibly should even be considered the favorite to land Griffin. Having Griffin’s brother, Quon Griffin on the team should only be an added bonus for the Jackets who have been pursuing Griffin extremely hard since the hiring of Geoff Collins.

According to his 247Sports profile, Griffin is a four-star prospect as mentioned above who is ranked as the composite 358th best player in the country, the 22nd best running back, and the 39th best player in the state of Georgia.

The Jackets 2019 recruiting class already features 19 members including a commitment from in-state linebacker Cornelius Evans on Sunday night. Out of those commitments, two of them are running backs in Montgomery, Alabama native Tony Amerson and Jacksonville, Florida native Devin Ellison. Both are considered three-stars and top-75 running backs nationally. A commitment from Griffin would be the Jackets best of the cycle, an honor currently held by Nashville, Tennessee native Wesley Walker (No.581 nationally).

Griffin will have 16 days to think over his choices before signing his letter of intent on February 6th to the school of his choice.
