Florida native and three-star wide receiver TJ Jones is expected to take an official visit to The Flats this weekend.

Earlier today, we discussed Georgia Tech’s top three remaining targets and the latest information on each. But now there’s a new notable target on the Jackets radar and that target has already planned an official visit.

Lake City, Florida native and three-star wide receiver TJ Jones is taking one last official visit before making his college decision. The visit will be Jones the

last visit of the cycle as a recruiting dead period begins Sunday before players formally can start signing again on Wednesday. Jones also visited Texas A&M (April 13), Indiana (Jan 18), and Penn State (Jan 25) throughout the 2019 recruiting cycle.

The top-600 prospect nationally is currently a very heavy Penn State leading according to 247Sports’s crystal ball for Jones but that isn’t stopping the Yellow Jackets of making a run at the wide receiver. The news of his official visit was shared on Twitter by 247Sports’s Steve Wiltfong.

The Jackets will not only be battling Penn State in the final days but always Indiana, two schools that have recruited the Sunshine State well over the last few recruiting cycles.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound wideout is ranked the 584th best player in the 247Sports composite rankings, the 74th best wide receiver in the 2019 recruiting class, and the 71st best player in the state of Florida. That being said, the Yellow Jackets already have four wide receiver commitments in the 2019 recruiting class and are also actively recruiting Miami transfer Marquez Ezzard.

It will be an interesting weekend to see if the Jackets can make a move with Jones here in the last weekend of the recruiting cycle. They surely have an uphill battle but perhaps Geoff Collins and his staff have some magic up their sleeves.
