Three-star wide receiver Nazir Burnett officially became a member of the Georgia Tech football program on Wednesday when he signed his letter of intent.

Three-star wide receiver Nazir Burnett (Harrisburg, PA) is officially a Yellow Jacket. The Pennsylvania standout was a late target in the 2019 recruiting cycle by the Yellow Jackets and committed to the program on January 22nd.

Burnett is one of four recruits to sign with the Jackets during the 2019 recruiting cycle joining Ahmarean Brown, Kalani Norris, and Zach Owens. The Jackets are also bringing former 2018 four-star prospect Marquez Ezzard, a former Miami Hurricane. They’ll have 11 wide receivers on scholarship entering next season.

Ranked as a top-20 prospect in the state of Pennsylvania, Burnett was originally committed to Syracuse from August 3rd to November 5th. The Jackets would offer him two months later and from there, the Jackets made Burnett a priority which eventually led to his recruitment.

Burnett currently stands at 6.05 foot tall and weighs 167-pounds, he’ll need to add some weight to his frame before he sees the field on The Flats.

Burnett is ranked as a composite three-star prospect by 247Sports’s composite rankings. He’s considered a fringe top-1000 player nationally, the 121st best wide receiver in the class, and a top-20 player in the Keystone state. That being said, Burnett has earned some impressive accolades.

According to EasternPAFootball, his senior stat line of 78-receptions for 1,747-yards and 25 touchdowns helped him become the site’s Pennsylvania’s 4A Player of the Year.

Burnett is the first 2019 commitment to sign with the Jackets on Wednesday. Transfer wide receiver Marquez Ezzard also signed early Friday.
