Fringe Redshirts:

These three players are guys that we think could very well play in more than four games for the Jackets in 2019 but ultimately will probably play in four games and that’s it. That being said, any of these guys becoming regulars or starters for the Jackets in 2019 wouldn’t be incredibly shocking.

DB Wesley Walker:

Walker is a special talent to say and has the potential to be an All-ACC caliber cornerback for the Yellow Jackets. Walker will definitely make an appearance in three or four games this season and depending on his play as well as the play of the rest of the cornerback group, Walker could definitely find his way into more games. Ultimately, we assume Walker will redshirt this season.

QB Jordan Yates:

The most interesting case for any player is without a doubt, Jordan Yates. Yates could very well be the starting quarterback come next August against Clemson but he’s going to have a tough battle with Lucas Johnson and potentially James Graham and Tobias Oliver depending on eligibility and position changes. Yates has a ton of talent and he showed that his senior season but will he be able to put it all together in time to be a starting freshman quarterback? Time will tell but it would be shocking if we didn’t at least see him a few times in 2019.
