Georgia native and three-star cornerback Jalen Huff committed to the Georgia Tech football program on Wednesday.

Over the last few weeks, it’s been expected that Buford, Georgia native Jalen Huff was going to eventually commit to the Georgia Tech football team. Huff was committed to Oklahoma for a while before backing away from the commitment on March 19th. Huff then took an unofficial visit to Georgia Tech this past weekend, his first since the commitment.

It appears that today was the day that Huff felt comfortable enough to let the Tech coaching staff know that he will be staying home to play his college ball. Earlier on Wednesday, Georgia Tech GM  Patrick Suddes alluded to a commitment.

While it took some time to become public after that tweet, Huff finally announced his commitment shortly before 6:30 pm eastern time on Wednesday.

Huff a composite three-star recruit is ranked as a top-650 player in 247Sports’s composite rankings as well as a top-50 corner in the country and a top-60 player in the state of Georgia. He’s the Jackets fifth commitment in the 2020 recruiting class and the third Peach State native.

In the class of 2020 he joins fellow defensive back Miles Brooks, WR Ryan King, QB Tucker Gleason, and TE Billy Ward. Huff is a big commitment for the Jackets as he was one of their top targets in the 2020 cycle and made him an obvious priority over the last few months.

Overall, Huff has collected the offer sheet with 32 total scholarship offers including offers Arizona State, Auburn, Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan State, Oregon, South Carolina, and Tennessee.

At 6-foot-0 and 175-pounds, Huff has good size for a cornerback and his highlight tape shows a player with quality speed especially in closing speed. With an ability to play both up and off the line pretty well, Huff is a versatile player who showed in his tape he could play both against the pass an against the run pretty well. Of course, there will be some adapting for him to do once he gets to The Flats but for now, Huff has a good base skill set to work with.

With the Huff commitment, the Jackets recruiting class now ranks 23rd in the country according to 247Sports’s composite rankings.
