Georgia Tech Golf: Jackets take home multiple awards and honors

Georgia Tech head golf coach Bruce Heppler won his 10th ACC Coach of the Year award on Wednesday.

Georgia Tech men’s golf this season has been one of the country’s best teams in the country and is coming off an ACC Championship a few weeks ago. As the Jackets search for a national championship in the upcoming weeks, Georgia Tech men’s head golf coach Bruce Heppler has added some hardware to his trophy collection.

Heppler on Wednesday was awarded his 10th ACC Coach of the Year award in his 24-years of being the Jackets head coach since he took over in 1994. He also won the award in 1999, 2001, 2002, 2006, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2014, and 2018.

The BYU native has been nothing short of one of the best coaches in the country in his 24-years as the Jackets head coach.

Heppler and the Jackets won’t be able to celebrate the award too long as the Jackets will need to prepare for their NCAA regional in Pullman, Washington. The Jackets are the No.2 seed in their regional, only behind the Oklahoma Sooners.

Four Jackets earn All-ACC honors:

Additionally, four Georgia Tech golfers earned All-ACC honors for their performances this season. According to the Georgia Tech athletic department, that ties for the most selections in program history. Their four selections were the following;

  • Andy Ogletree – Junior

Ogletree earned his first All-ACC honors and was the Jackets top performer this spring was without a doubt and will be a huge part of the Jackets quest for a national championship.

  • Luke Schniederjans – Junior

Schniederjans has been a helluva a golfer for the Jackets since enrolling on campus and this season was no different from the Yellow Jackets.

  • Tyler Strafaci – Junior

The junior followed up a spectacular sophomore season with a great junior season earning his second All-ACC honor.

  • Noah Norton – Sophomore

The California native put together a great sophomore season and had multiple top-10 finishes.

Overall, it’s been a great season for Georgia Tech golf and it could get even better in the upcoming weeks with a potential National Championship.
