Defensive End (8)

  • Antwan Owens – Junior
  • Antonneous Clayton – Junior
  • Kelton Dawson – Sophomore
  • Quon Griffin – Redshirt freshman
  • Luke Johns – Redshirt freshman
  • Justice Dingle – Redshirt freshman
  • Sylvian Youndjean – Freshman
  • D’Quon Douse – Freshman

The Jackets added one defensive end with Anntoneous Clayton through the transfer market and are recruited two freshmen to the group. The good news is they won’t lose any players to graduation after this season. There’s a lot of potential at the position but a lot to be proven.

Defensive Tackle (6)

  • Bentavious Glanton – Redshirt Senior
  • Chris Martin – Redshirt junior
  • TK Chimedza – Redshirt freshman
  • Austin Smith – Redshirt freshman
  • Jamal Camp – Freshman
  • Michael Lockhart – Freshman

Like at defensive end, the Jackets have a good amount of potential at defensive tackle but a lot of unproven talent as well. Glanton and Chimedza will most likely lead the group. Unfortunately, the Jackets did lose one of their top defensive tackles in Brandon Adams this offseason due to his tragic death.

Linebacker (10)

  • David Curry – Redshirt senior
  • Bruce Jordan-Swilling – Junior
  • Jaquon Henderson – Junior
  • Charlie Thomas – Sophomore
  • Jaquez Jackson – Sophomore
  • Jordan Domineck – Redshirt freshman
  • Chico Bennett – Freshman
  • Cornelius Evans -Freshman
  • Kendall Young- Freshman

The Jackets group of linebackers has some great potential and it’s arguably their deepest spot on the roster. The Jackets have a group of athletic linebackers and already have a great deal of experience at the position as well. Linebacker should be an exciting position for fans to watch this season.

Safety (5)

  • Christian Campbell – Redshirt senior
  • Tariq Carpenter – Junior
  • Gentry Bonds – Redshirt sophomore
  • Kaleb Oliver – Redshirt sophomore
  • Myles Sims – Redshirt freshman
  • Jeremiah Smith – Freshman

The safety group for the Yellow Jackets is another group that is exciting for Georgia Tech and should be fun to watch. Tariq Carpenter and Christian Campbell will be strong leaders of the group and if Myles Sims gets immediate eligibility for 2019, he could very well side into a role that sees him on the field quite a bit.

Cornerback (10)

  • Jaytlin Askew – Junior
  • Ajani Kerr – Redshirt Junior
  • Tre Swilling – Sophomore
  • Juanyeh Thomas – Sophomore
  • Jaylon King – Redshirt freshman
  • Zamari Walton – Redshirt freshman
  • Wesley Walker – Freshman
  • Jordan Huff – Freshman
  • Kenan Johnson – Freshman

The Jackets enter secondary and the cornerback group seems to be as deep as it has in years. The Jackets group still has a good amount to prove this upcoming season but with 8 of 10 players being sophomores or younger, this group will be dangerous in 2019 and beyond. Additionally, we could see Myles Sims at cornerback instead of safety.

Kicker and Punter (3):

  • P Pressley Harvin III – Junior
  • K Brenton King – Redshirt Sophomore
  • K Wesley Wells – Sophomore

Wesley Wells and Pressley Harvin III are the two names to know here while Brent King provides the Jackets with a quality backup kicker.
