The Georgia Tech football program will be hosting a strong contingent of official visitors this Memorial Day weekend.

The Georgia Tech football program has been one of the hottest teams on the recruiting trail this spring and will look to continue their hot streak as the summer approaches. This upcoming weekend, the Yellow Jackets will be hosting a strong contingent of official visitors, a mixture of non-Tech commitments and current commits.

So far, eight recruits are known to be scheduled for their official visits this weekend.

CB Miles Brooks

The highest rated commit for Tech so far will be taking his official visit to a The Flats this holiday weekend. Brooks is considered a top-200 prospect nationally and is a consensus four-star prospect. Brooks will most likely spend most of his time with the uncommitted official visitors as the Jackets try to land a few more key pieces.

OT Javion Cohen

The Phrenix City, Alabama native will be on campus this weekend as the Jackets look to land the 6’4, 275-pound tackle. Cohen right now is considered an Auburn lean but the Jackets could make a huge push for Cohen this weekend. A top-400 player nationally, Cohen is on the edge of being a four-star prospect. This will be an important recruitment to watch going forward.

QB Tucker Gleason – COMMIT

The Jackets quarterback of the 2020 recruiting class will be on hand this weekend and will most likely be spending most of his time with Bryce Gowdy. It will be important for Gleason to form a strong relationship with Gowdy. The three-star prospect is considered a top-30 pro-style quarterback in the 2020 recruiting cycle and a top-90 player in the state of Florida.

WR Bryce Gowdy

The four-star wide receiver out of Florida scheduled his official visit to The Flats despite being offered less than a month ago. The top-350 prospect nationally is high on the Jackets board and would be a BIG time addition to the recruiting class. You can read more on him here.

OG Tate Johnson

Tech fans are most likely familiar with this massive 6’4, 320-pound offensive guard. Johnson has been on the cusp of making a decision for a while now but this official visit definitely seems like a decision probably will come this summer. The Jackets have been pushing hard for Johnson for months and this is just the next step in that push. You can read more on Johnson here.

DE Kyle Kennard

Tech fans may not be familiar with the tall and lengthy 6’4, 201-pound defensive end but te Jackets are considered the favorite to land the Georgia native. Kennard isn’t highly ranked but with his size and raw potential there’s a lot to like. He’s ranked as a top-100 player in Georgia. It will be interesting to see if the Jackets have him as a take at this juncture or not. The Atlanta native has offers from Arizona State, Iowa State, and Tennessee among others.

OT Richie Leonard IV:

Florida offensive lineman Richie Leonard IV will be making his official visit to The Flats this weekend as he gets closer to his commitment date of July 5th. A three-star offensive tackle, Leonard IV is considered a top-50 offensive tackle in the country. He’s received 25 scholarship offers so far in his recruitment but Florida State, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Tennessee, and West Virginia are considered his leaders at this time. 247Sports’s crystal ball currently has Florida State as the favorite with six predictions all for the Seminoles.

OG Jordan Williams – COMMIT

The offensive guard commitment will be on The Flats this weekend and will be playing a similar role to Miles Brooks and Tucker Gleason. Williams is likely to spend a ton of time with Javion Cohen and Tate Johnson on his official visit as the Jackets look to bolster their offensive line. The 6-foot-6, 300+ guard is a consensus three-star prospect and a top-750 player nationally.

Overall, it’s a big weekend for Georgia Tech and the coaching staff. These are just the official visits that we know about entering this weekend and it’s already a strong list. The Jackets will look to make strides with these key uncommitted prospects and getting them around current commitments is huge. While there may be no commitments as a result this weekend or upcoming week, the Jackets could put themselves in a few favorable situations.

Geoegia Tech’s 2020 recruiting class currently features 12 commitments and is considered a top-15 class across the industry.
