With 90 days left until Georgia Tech kicks off their 2019 season against Clemson on August 29th, we remember talented defensive lineman Brandon Adams.

One of the hardest pieces of work I ever had to write for our site here at Yellow Jacked Up was the unfortunate post regarding the tragic death of Georgia Tech football player Brandon Adams. The 21-year old was entering what was expected to be a big season for senior season but a tragic accident while dancing ultimately cost Adams his life. His death was just days before the Jackets were set to begin spring practices. During the Jackets spring game, they had on the field a tribute to Adams with his #90 while also carrying his jersey on to the field prior to the game.

Adams was loved both on and off the field by his teammates, by all accounts, Adams was an ideal teammate and the type of person that could make anyone around him happy. He was the proverbial “life of the party”.

As a junior, Adams had a career year for the Jackets, playing in all 13 games for the Yellow Jackets. In those 13 games, Adams recorded 24 tackles and 5 tackles for a loss. He also forced two fumbles and recovered one.

Entering today, we debated about what to do for 90 day left until kickoff for Georgia Tech in 2019. We debated between the Jackets 1990 National Championship team and Brandon Adams. But in our hearts, we knew that remembering Brandon Adams was the right choice. We want to make sure that Adams legacy is never forgotten and want to do our best to honor Adams.

This upcoming season, there will be surely a ton of tributes for Adams, and as there should be. Adams as noted above was beloved by his teammates and anyone who had the lucky chance to know him. It will be interesting to see how the Jackets continue honoring their fallen teammate entering the season. In the past, we have seen many emotional tributes to fallen teammates across the country and when Georgia Tech take on Clemson on August 29th, it should be no different. Because while the Jackets will be ready to play a football game with 11 men on the field, each one of the Jackets defenders will be carrying the heart, soul, and spirit of Adams with them on August 29th and beyond for the remainder of the season.

We hope that Adams friends and family have found peace in these weeks since his tragic passing and they are forever in our thoughts and prayers. It was a beautiful life simply gone too soon and one that those who even never met him, should never forget.
