With freshman across the country including at Georgia Tech enrolling or already enrolled, we take a look at the five most exciting freshman Georgia Tech will have on campus this summer, starting with linebacker Kendall Young.

Arkansas linebacker Kendall Young was the final addition to Georgia Tech’s 2019 recruiting class but is easily one of the top five most exciting freshmen of the group as well. Young, a three-star linebacker by all reports will be a top of the depth chart in all likelihood this upcoming season.

The Bentonville, Arkansas native did have some legal issues before signing with the Jackets but with all legal issues resolved, the 6-foot-5 and 215-pound linebacker is looking to make an immediate impact on The Flats.

The former Vanderbilt commit is an exciting prospect for several reasons but the top reason without a doubt is his potential ability to become a premier outside linebacker for the Yellow Jackets. When considering his size, Young is massive at 6-foot-5 and 215-pounds which may mean he becomes more of an EDGE pass rusher during his career if the Jackets feel comfortable doing so. If he could add another 25-30 pounds, he would have the chance to become a massive and formidable force on the EDGE for the Jackets.

So far the chatter around the program seems to be highly positive with Young, with coaches and fans equally excited about the potential Young brings to the table and what he could become for the Yellow Jackets. Last year, the Jackets saw themselves have a Freshman All-American performer in safety / return man Juanyeh Thomas but could see another in Young in 2019.

If all goes well this summer and in fall camp, Young should play himself into a pretty notable role this fall. From a pure raw talent and potential standpoint, Young is at the top of the list for the Jackets linebackers.
