Kickoff is officially less than a month away as there is just now 30 days until Georgia Tech football kicks off their 2019 season.

One of the most crucial parts of any college football team is their scout team and often it’s these players that go overlooked as fans rarely get to see these players in actions. But it’s these players that every week help the great teams truly be great.

Today, in our countdown to kickoff, we feature one of these overlooked walk-ons, that of Atlanta, Georgia native linebacker Olin Broadway. Broadway has been a member of the Georgia Tech football program for the last two years. As a true freshman in 2017, Broadway was able to receive his redshirt, giving him an extra year of eligibility down the road.

Last season, Broadway once again was a member of the scout team and while serving his important role on the scout team also was able to earn an ACC Honor Roll selection for his work in the classroom, a tremendous milestone for any college football player.

In 2019, Broadway will most likely remain a part of the scout team though he may get looks on the offensive side of the ball as he played tight end in high school for St. Pius X, if not, he’ll remain at linebacker where he will play a crucial part in the Jackets preparation week in and week out.

The Yellow Jackets will kick off their 2019 season against the Clemson Tigers on August 29th as they look to upset the defending national champions in a place that the Clemson faithful love to call “Death Valley”.
