In week two of Georgia Tech’s remaining opponents analysis, we saw a lot more from compared to the week 1 analysis, as expected. The ACC Coastal looks to be already in chaos, and some teams that lost in a week one, looked way better in week two.

Week 3: Vs. The Citadel (0-2)

In Week 3, I see the yellow Jackets easily getting to a (2-1) overall record. The Citadel has lost two straight to fellow FCS schools Elon and Towson. Georgia Tech is also 10-0 all-time against the Bulldogs and look to continue that streak. I expect a large performance from our offense this game and the defense will shut down their offense.

Prediction: Georgia Tech 35, The Citadel 6

Week 4: BYE

Week 5: @ Temple (1-0)

Temple had a Bye week in Week 2, but the Owls are still coming off a strong performance through the air against Bucknell in Week 1. We should learn a LOT from their upcoming game against Maryland this next Saturday, after Maryland stunned #21 Syracuse 63-20 this past Saturday. I still see the jackets as the favorites here, but the offense really needs to get clicking, and fast.

Prediction: Georgia Tech 21, Temple 17

Week 6: Vs. North Carolina (2-0)

More from Yellow Jacked Up

In Week 2, UNC managed to squeak out another victory late in the 4th quarter, but this time against Miami. Both teams had it going on offense but, both failed to really finish their drives. Missed field goals, and failed 3rd and 4th down conversions doomed this game. If UNC’s offense keeps clicking and they figure out how to play a little bit better defense, I could see UNC being the ACC Coastal favorites in just a few short weeks. Georgia Tech will have their hands full after coming back home from Temple.

Prediction: Georgia Tech 21, North Carolina 31

Week 7: @ Duke (1-1)

After a rather lackluster offensive performance against Alabama, the Blue Devils turned it up against North Carolina A&T. The Blue Devils saw success both through the air, and on the ground in their 45-13 home victory. It’s hard to predict just what Duke is going to do at this point, but we should find out more this weekend when they go away to play MTSU in a non-conference matchup between the ACC and C-USA. Georgia Tech will look to break Duke’s win streak against us in Week 7, and the defense will shut down the Blue Devils.

Prediction: Georgia Tech 17, Duke 14

Week 8: @ Miami (0-2)

Miami suffered yet again another heart breaker, losing this time to fellow ACC foe North Carolina. Miami looks to be a good team, but just cannot seem to finish games. I see Miami late in the season as a contender in the ACC race. If Miami finds out how to finish drives and works out their kinks of defense, they’ll be hard to knock off, especially away.

Prediction: Georgia Tech 14, Miami 28

    Week 10: Vs. Pittsburgh (1-1)

In Week 2, Pittsburgh played MAC favorite , Ohio. The score was rather low, but the yards gained was rather not, at least for the Panthers. They tallied 481 yards against the Bobcats, but only scored 20 points. I expect the Panthers to look for a way to try to compete in the Coastal, but I do not believe this will be a repeat season for them to return to the ACC Title Game. I believe Tech will have their offensive production mainly figured out at the point and squeaking by a close victory.

Prediction: Georgia Tech 24, Pittsburgh 21

    Week 11:  @ Virginia (2-0)

Virginia looks to continue being the favorites in the ACC Coastal race after a dominating 52-17  performance against William & Mary Friday night. Not sure if Tech will be able to keep up with how effective they’ve been playing thus far.

Prediction: Georgia Tech 20, Virginia 38

Week 12:  Vs. Virginia Tech (1-1)

The Hokies did not look pretty against ODU, but they showed signs of life coming off a tough loss to Boston College in Week 1. Last week, I saw this game as shootout, but if Tech’s defense plays like it did Saturday against the Bulls, the Yellow Jackets may run away with this one.

Prediction: Georgia Tech 27, Virginia Tech 13

Week 13: Vs. NC State (2-0)

Last week I had us upsetting NC State at home, but if the Jacket offense is still performing only mediocre at best, the Wolfpack will be hard to knock off. The Wolfpack (2-0) are, thus far, outscoring their opponents 75-6 in two games. They’ll travel to Morgantown to play the West Virginia Mountaineers this upcoming weekend. We should learn just how dominating their defense really is in this game. The Jackets will keep it close in this low scoring affair, but ultimately lose in a heart breaker.

Prediction: Georgia Tech 13, NC State 16

    Week 14: Vs. Georgia (2-0)

The Bulldogs come to Atlanta again and will look to keep their streak at Bobby Dodd alive. It’s been a while since the Jackets have been able to beat the Bulldogs at home, 20 years to be exact. The Yellow Jackets, for some reason, seem to have more success at Athens, splitting it even (3-3) over the past decade. Georgia continues to look like a SEC championship contender and this year, once again, knock off the Jackets on their home turf.

Prediction: Georgia Tech 10, Georgia 31

    Overall: Georgia Tech (6-6)

After Week 1, I had the Yellow Jackets performing (6-6), and being close contenders in a wild ACC Coastal race, but this week I have the Yellow Jackets still performing a (6-6) record, but boasting only a (3-5) ACC record with North Carolina and Virginia pulling away from the rest. The Yellow Jackets need to find a rhythm on offense or this could be a very long season. Georgia Tech will host The Citadel on Saturday at 12:30 Noon. The game will be broadcasted on the ACC Network for the 3rd week in a row.
