The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are early double-digit point underdogs to the Temple Owls for their week five matchup, which shall be named “The Geoff Collins Bowl” as it features Georgia Tech head coach Geoff Collins’ current program and his former program in Temple where he spent the last two seasons.

The Temple Owls entering week five are 10-point favorites over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, a half-point higher so a little over 12 hours since the odds were first released showing the Owls as 9.5-point favorites.

The Yellow Jackets are coming off a bye week in week four, giving them two weeks to prepare for the Owls. The Jackets, of course, are coming off their first loss to an FCS program, in a 27-24 loss to The Citadel in week three. It’s a loss that has made some fans question the future of the program. Geoff Collins will look to win some of those fans back on Saturday against his former program.

The Temple Owls are coming off a rather shocking loss to the University of Buffalo by a final score of 38-22. This is just one week after the Owls knocked off top-25 ranked Maryland 20-17. That being said, don’t underestimate the Owls. A program that has been one of the top in the American over the last four seasons. They have a ferocious defense at times and if their offense gets moving, they could put up their fair share of numbers. Prior to their loss to Buffalo, the Owls beat Maryland as mentioned above after starting the season off with an easy win over Bucknell.

In terms of covering the spread, the Jackets are off to an 0-3 start this season. Temple so far is 2-1 on the season, covering their first two games against Bucknell and Maryland before failing to do so against Buffalo on Saturday.

The Yellow Jackets and Temple Owls are set to kickoff on Saturday afternoon at 3:30 p.m at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
