After falling to North Carolina this past weekend by a final score of 38-22, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets have opened as nearly three touchdown underdogs to Duke for this upcoming weekend.

Geoff Collins’ Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are 1-4 in his first four games as the head coach of the Yellow Jackets. The Jackets are losers of three straights and haven’t won a game in over a month. The Jackets offense finally showed some resemblance of life against North Carolina but a tired Jackets defense couldn’t stop true freshman signal caller Sam Howell from picking apart the secondary on Saturday.

In a result, the Jackets have opened up as nearly three touchdown underdogs to the Duke Blue Devils this upcoming weekend. The lines for the game opened up around -17.5 with some lines a bit higher at -18.5 in favor of the Blue Devils. For the Jackets, that’s the biggest line they’ve faced this season since their season opener against Clemson in August. Last week against North Carolina, the Jackets were just 10-point underdogs.

While the Jackets are coming off a loss, the Blue Devils are also coming off a loss themselves. This past weekend, the Blue Devils lost to the Pittsburgh Panthers by a final score of 33-30. It was the Blue Devils first loss since their season opener to Alabama when they were demolished 42-3 in Atlanta.

Prior to the loss against the Panthers, the Blue Devils ripped off three massive wins including a 45-10 win over Virginia Tech. So far this season, the Blue Devils are 3-2 against the spread while the Jackets are 0-5.

The Yellow Jackets and Blue Devils will kick off at 12:30 pm this upcoming Saturday at Wallace Wade Stadium in Durham, North Carolina.
