Georgia Tech Football: Kickoff time for Jackets matchup against Virginia set
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and Virginia Cavaliers have learned the kickoff time for their matchup next weekend.
The Yellow Jackets and Cavaliers will kickoff at 12:30 pm on Nov.9 from Scott Stadium in Charlottesville. The game will be televised on your local ACC regional sports network which means in the Atlanta area, that will be Fox Sports South.
The Yellow Jackets 2-5 are currently coming off their bye week and face Pittsburgh this weekend while the Cavaliers are coming off a shocking loss at the hands of the Louisville Cardinals. The Cavaliers this weekend will look to get back int he win column when they take on the North Carolina Tar Heels in Durham at 7:30 pm on Saturday night.
Last season, the Jackets and Cavaliers met at Bobby Dodd Stadium. The two-teams would trade blows throughout the first four quarters before a Virginia field goal as time-expired sent the game to overtime. In overtime, Wesley Wells hit his FOURTH field goal of the game, a 40-yarder to give the Jackets a 30-27 victory. Wells also hit a 48-yard field goal in the game fourth-quarter.
Freshman All-American Juanyeh Thomas also played a pivotal role in that victory for the Yellow Jackets when he returned a kickoff 77-yards for a touchdown in the first quarter. With the Jackets offense this season, they’ll need to find some ways to score on special teams or defense much like they did against Miami in their 28-21 win on Oct.19.
Before the Jackets worry about taking on the Cavaliers, they’ll have to get past the Pittsburgh Panthers this weekend at 4:00 pm. The Panthers will look to put away bad memories from their loss to Miami this past weekend.
