The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets defeated the NC State Wolfpack on Thursday night and these three Yellow Jackets played a huge part in their victory.

Offense: QB James Graham

Graham was the sparkplug of the Jackets offense on Thursday by far with four total touchdowns on the evening (3 passing, 1 rushing). The redshirt freshman was 7-for-15 through the air with 129-yards and three touchdowns. While his completion percentage was lowered throughout the evening, he started off hot early in the game that immediately put the Jacket ahead early and allowed to them to eventually hold on for the victory.

To go along with his 129-yards on the ground, Graham was also strong on the ground, picking up 114-yards for the evening with the one rushing touchdown mentioned above. It was Graham’s best effort to date as the Jacket starting quarterback.

Defense: LB David Curry

Curry lead the Jackets defense in tackles with 11 on the evening. The redshirt junior has been solid in the light of several injuries popping up lately on the Jackets defense and Thursday night was another one of those efforts. In addition to his 11 tackles, Curry had one tackle for a loss, one pass deflection, and one quarterback hurry on the evening.

Special Teams: P Pressley Harvin III

Harvin once again showed why he was one of the Jackets top assets as he boomed punt after punt on Thursday night. The junior had four punts on Thursday night for a total of 202-yards, an average of 50.5 yards per punt. His long for the evening was 54. Harvin, has been one of the best punters in all of college football this season and his performance on Thursday was just another showcase for his abilities and why he’ll be an NFL punter in the not so far distant future.
