Coming off of a four-point loss to bitter rival Georgia, the Georgia Tech basketball team looks to get back on track against another SEC opponent, Arkansas. The Jackets beat Arkansas last year in Fayetteville 69-65 under Jose Alvarado’s 20 point performance.

Keys to the Game:

One name, Michael Devoe. Devoe is, by far, coming off his best three-game stretch in his career on the Flats. He is averaging 26 PPG, and he dropped a 34-point performance in Athens last week. Devoe has also made 11, 3-pointers on just 15 attempts through three games. Shooting at a very high 73.3% from that range. The Yellow Jackets will need to trust in Devoe to take them as far as he possibly can.

A struggle last game, was free throws. The Yellow Jackets shot 12 out of 23 from the foul line while the Bulldogs shot 22 out of 31. A 52.2% mark vs. Georgia’s 71%. The Jackets need to limit their fouls and take advantage of the line when they are there.

Scouting Preview:

The Razorbacks are off to a great start, going 5-0 to start their season. Isaiah Joe leads the team with 17.4 PPG. He also leads them in assists with 3.4 per game. They’ll look to Joe to lead them to a victory in Atlanta on Monday night. The Yellow Jackets will need to shut him down early if they want to beat the Razorbacks.

Junior Guard Mason Jones and Senior Guard Jimmy Whitt Jr. are also both performing very well this season. The three guards for Arkansas (Joe, Jones, and Whitt Jr.) have a combined average of 48.8 PPG. They, alone, have made the Razorbacks an offensive force and can distribute the ball well to each other. If one has a bad night, the other pair tend to pick up their slack. The Razorbacks have yet to face an great defense and the Jackets will look to give them their first taste of that. It’ll be important to see how Arkansas’ ‘three headed monster’ goes up against Tech’s block-happy defense

How to Watch:

The Yellow Jackets will be hosted by the ACCNetwork when they take on the Arkansas Razorbacks at 7:00 PM EST on Monday night. The game will also be broadcasted on Tech’s radio call accessible through the GT Gameday App. With a win, the Jackets will improve to 3-1 with their next game hosting Bethune-Cookman on December 1st.
