Grayson wide receiver Ryan King was one of six top-500 players that was apart of Georgia Tech’s 2020 recruiting class  and is in today’s spotlight.

Yesterday, we discussed four-star wide receiver signee Nate McCollum, today we discuss one of his wide receiver counterparts, high three-star Ryan King.

King collected 17 reported scholarship offers during his recruitment including offers from Arkansas, Baylor, Kentucky, LSU, Maryland, Minnesota, and Texas. The Yellow Jackets however once entering his recruitment were the front runners it seemed and he only took one official visit during his recruitment, that being to The Flats during the second weekend of June. His primary recruiter to Georgia Tech was wide receivers coach Kerry Dixon.

At 6-foot-3, 215-pounds, King is built similarly to fellow 2020 signee and four-star Bryce Gowdy. Likewise, they have a similar style and potentially similar impact for the Yellow Jackets. He does possess quality speed with a 4.62 forty-yard dash according to 247Sports.

As seen in his highlight tape above from his junior season, King shows a great ability to find the ball and go up and get it. He’ll compete to get his hands on every ball  he can. If the ball is catchable it probably will be a rare sight to see King not come down with it. He has the chance to be a big play maker for the Yellow Jackets and become a very reliable wide receiver for the Jackets in the process.

King is not set to enroll early and instead will enroll with the rest of the class this upcoming late spring / early summer. That being said, King still has the talent and ability to at least play in a few games for the Yellow Jackets if not appear regularly on the field.
