Georgia Tech signee Bryce Gowdy has tragically passed away.

We are sad to pass along here on this Monday afternoon, that Georgia Tech 2020 signee Bryce Gowdy has passed away. There are reports out there about his passing but out of respect to Bryce and his family, we wish not to share those with you at this time. That being said, Deerfield Beach Football confirmed the passing of Gowdy, simply known as “Simba” this early afternoon.

Gowdy by all reports was a great person both on and off the field. Someone who loved football but loved his family, friends, and teammates more. On the field, he was a tremendous talent and was set to potentially make a huge impact on The Flats next fall. But football means nothing at this point. His loss goes way beyond that of football. It’s simply tragic and heartwrenching especially as we finish up this holiday season.

Gowdy was excited to join the Georgia Tech football program and posted about such last night in the tweet below. “Family matters, can’t wait to get to the ATL soon!”. Gowdy was set to enroll on The Flats next month as an early enrollee after graduating from Deerfield Beach High School.

For Georgia Tech, this all too similar. Earlier this year, they suffered a terrible loss as rising senior Brandon Adams lost his life following a tragic accident. Everyone here at Yellow Jacked Up is heartbroken to learn of this news.

Yellow Jacked Up sends prayers and condolences to every one who had the pleasure of knowing Bryce including his family, friends, teammates, classmates. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers as well. Lastly, we’d simply like to say Rest in Peace, Bryce.
