Mississippi offensive lineman Ryan Spiers was one of many offensive line additions in Georgia Tech’s 2020 recruiting class.
Ryan Spiers, a three-star offensive guard out of Biloxi, Mississippi was one of six offensive lineman that Geoff Collins and his coaching staff recruited in the 2020 recruiting class. Spiers is set to enroll this summer and currently 6-foot-3 and 285-pounds.
Spiers is rated by 247Sports’s composite rankings as a top-2,250 prospect nationally and a top-150 offensive guard. He has an overall rating of .8160.
Spiers only reported four FBS scholarship offers during his recruitment. Outside the Yellow Jackets, Spiers received scholarship offers from Louisiana-Monroe, South Alabama, and UAB. Spiers was originally offered by the Yellow Jackets during the summer before committing in early September. His lead recruiter was that of offensive line coach Brent Key.
Overall, Spiers long term projects to be a depth player for the Yellow Jackets on their offensive line. Spiers has potential but does appear to be a project for Brent Key to work with going forward. There is things to like about Spiers game but patience will be required with his development. Spiers may not see the field for his first two or three years on campus but as a redshirt sophomore or redshirt junior, he should be a quality depth option for the Yellow Jackets.
With this profile on Spiers, we have just one 2020 signee profile left on our plate, that being Florida offensive lineman Cade Kootsouradis out of Crestview, Florida. The Yellow Jackets in the upcoming weeks will be finalizing their 2020 recruiting class overall in the lead up to National Signing Day on February 5th.
