The Georgia Tech football received a commitment on Sunday from three-star athlete Jamal Haynes

As Georgia Tech rounds out their 2020 recruiting class, they are already focusing on the 2021 recruiting class as well. On Sunday, while hosting one of their junior days, the Yellow Jackets received a commitment.

That commitment is from three-star athlete Jamal Haynes. Haynes hails from in-state power Grayson High School. A teammate of 2020 signee Ryan King, Haynes is another commitment that will help the Yellow Jackets continue to build a pipeline to one of the best talent producing programs in the state.

Haynes is the second commitment in the 2021 recruiting class joining Florida wide receiver Malik Rutherford who committed to the program back in November. Haynes announced his commitment on Twitter early Sunday afternoon.

At 5-foot-9 and 175-pounds, Haynes is on the smaller side but does show speed and athleticism that will make him a weapon for the Yellow Jackets. During his time at Grayson, most of Haynes time on the field is seen at wide receiver. According to MaxPreps, Haynes this past season racked up 44 receptions for 682-yards and five touchdowns.

Haynes is ranked as a three-star by 247Sports’s composite rankings and has an overall rating of .8333. He is ranked as a top-1000 player nationally, a top-90 athlete and a top-60 player in the state of Georgia. According to his profile, he holds four FBS offers from Power 5 programs. Other programs who have offered Haynes include Maryland, Pittsburgh, and Purdue. Haynes originally earned his offer from the Yellow Jackets back in September before ending his recruitment on Sunday afternoon.

The Georgia Tech coaching staff in the upcoming week and a half will be finishing up the 2020 recruiting class before turning their full attention to the 2021 recruiting class. The 2020 recruiting cycle will wrap up on National Signing Day, February 5th, one week from this Wednesday.
