The Georgia Tech men’s basketball team will look for what should be an easier win on Tuesday evening when they take on the Morehouse College Maroon Tigers.

Georgia Tech over the weekend picked up a big win over the North Carolina State Wolfpack and will look for a second-straight win on Tuesday, when they take on the Morehouse College Maroon Tigers. The Maroon Tigers, a member of the Division II’s SIAC conference. It will be the Jackets first of two games this week with a showdown against Notre Dame set for Saturday afternoon.

The Tigers entering Tuesday night are 9-9 on their regular season including 6-5 in SIAC conference play. On Saturday, they defeated Clark Atlanta University Panthers 67-62. They’re in their 20th season under head coach Grady Brewer who took over the program in 2020. Tuesday night’s matchup between the two Atlanta programs will be the first since 2006 when the Yellow Jackets defeated the Maroon Tigers 96-52.

For the Yellow Jackets, victory should come easy on Tuesday night as based off talent alone, this is the time of game they should win by 30-40 points at the least. Will it happen that way? Who knows. But the key to victory for Georgia Tech is simply to just play their game and stay healthy. If they can get in and out of Tuesday rather easy and healthy. That’s all that will matter for the Jackets.

Tuesday’s game will also be a game that the Yellow Jackets could work on getting back to the basics. The Jackets have struggled in some areas recently and this would be a great opportunity for them to work on those issues. It could also be one of the few games that the Jackets walk-on could see quite a bit of playing time during their career.

One player to watch out of Georgia Tech’s starters will be Jose Alvarado who has been extremely hot as of late for the Jackets. Alvarado is coming off arguably his best game of his career with 26 points, eight rebounds, and nine steals.

The Yellow Jackets and Tigers are set to tipoff at 7:30 pm on Tuesday night at McCamish Pavillion.
