Georgia Tech Football: Where Tech’s 2020 recruiting class stands one week before NSD
We’re just one week from National Signing Day and Georgia Tech’s recruiting staff is looking to finish off what has been a simply tremendous recruiting cycle.
The Recruiting Class So Far…
Georgia Tech’s 2020 recruiting class so far is ranked 26th nationally by 247Sports’s composite team rankings. That is a 24-spot improvement from last cycle’s No.50 recruiting class. The Jackets class is also ranked 5th in the ACC.
The class is headlined by Florida quarterback Jeff Sims, who committed and signed with the Yellow Jackets on December 18th. The Jackets signed 21 players during the early signing period. Unfortunately since then, four-star wide receiver signee Bryce Gowdy has passed away, a loss that goes way beyond on the field of play. We continue to keep the Gowdy family in our thoughts and prayers.

The Jackets currently have three commitments that remain unsigned, defensive end Albany Casey, running back Jahmyr Gibbs, and offensive lineman Cade Kootsouradis. Out of the three, the only one whose commitment was a question is Gibbs as Florida, LSU, and Ohio State also showed extreme interest in the now top-100 prospect over the last several prospects.
Players to Keep an Eye on:
There are a few players to keep an eye on heading into National Signing Day but there are three players that we will be keeping an eye on more so than others.
LB TJ Davis:
Davis is a three-star linebacker that has recently burst on the season when it comes to Georgia Tech recruiting. Davis has already an official visit to The Flats but has also made a recent visit to visit Florida State.
DE Jayson Jones:
The four-star defensive line commitment to Alabama announced on Wednesday the final four schools he will be considering going into National Signing Day.

S Javier Morton:
It’s been quiet on the Javier Morton front lately but the Yellow Jackets are still in play for the three-star safety. Morton is a high three-star safety prospect who would be a tremendous addition to the class if the Jackets could land or take him.
Overall:
Its’ been a great recruiting cycle for Georgia Tech and they’ll have a chance to finish it on a high note. Keeping and signing Jahmyr Gibbs will be huge int itself. If they can add one or two of the recruits above in addition to Gibbs, it would be even bigger. The Jackets coaching staff may have a few surprises up their sleeves as well. But we’ll have to wait and see.
