Georgia Tech routed the Morehouse College Maroon Tigers on Tuesday night 82-54 in a game that 13 different Yellow Jackets saw time on the court.

Georgia Tech on Tuesday night picked up their second straight win when they defeated Division II opponent, the Morehouse College Maroon Tigers 82-54. The win helps the Jackets continue their much needed momentum heading into the rest of their regular season if they hope to keep their postseason hopes alive.

Our MVP of the game is Georgia Tech center James Banks III who had one of his best games of the entire season against the Tigers. Banks who has been dynamite for the Jackets since Christmas, led the Yellow Jackets in scoring against the Tigers with 12-points. He was efficient when it came to shooting, going 4-for-5 from the field and also went 4-for-4 from the free throw line.

While he was strong offensively against the Maroon Tigers, Banks was also great on the boards and on defense. Banks almost recorded a double-double in the game, recording nine rebounds in the game. He also recorded four blocks and one steal, a tremendous effort defensively.

Honorable Mention:

Our honorable mention for Tuesday’s game was Georgia Tech’s bench. Usually only two or three Jackets come off the bench for the Jackets. Against Morehouse, however, the Jackets saw eight players come off the bench. Those eight players combined contributed 32 points to the Jackets victory.

The Yellow Jackets will get back on the court on Saturday afternoon when they take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish at 12:00 pm in South Bend.
