The Georgia Tech women’s basketball keeps on stumbling with fifth straight loss at hands of Notre Dame.

Georgia Tech’s women basketball team simply can’t find their footing here in 2020 as the Jackets on Sunday afternoon dropped their fifth straight game. After dropping games to Boston College, UNC, Duke, and Miami (FL), the Jackets fell to the Fighting Irish 59-51.

For most of the game, it was a back-and-forth even affair, the two teams stayed with each other throughout the game and no one really took a huge lead. At halftime, the Yellow Jackets actually held a one-point lead, 24-23. A rough third quarter, however, would put the Jackets in a position they’ve found themselves too much recently.

In the third quarter, Notre Dame would have the biggest scoring output of either team in a quarter, putting up 19-points. The Jackets, however, managed just 11-points in the quarter. Notre Dame would take a 42-35 lead heading into the final quarter of play. In the fourth quarter, the Jackets put together their best quarter offensively, managing 16-points. Unfortunately for them, however, Notre Dame, matched their total plus one, totaling 17-points.

Only two Yellow Jackets were able to manage double-digit points on Sunday with Jasmine Carson leading the Jackets with 17-points. Lorela Cubaj was the only other Jacket to get into double-digits with 10-points.

Nell Fortner will need to find a fix fast for her program as the Jackets hit the court again on Thursday when they take on the Pittsburgh Panthers. The Panthers offer the best chance for the Jackets to find their winning ways again with a 4-17 record entering this week.
