With the 2020 recruiting cycle mostly wrapped across the country, it’s time to turn our attention to the 2021 recruiting cycle. The non-stop recruiting action continues for the Georgia Tech football program after signing a consensus top-30 recruiting class in the country for the 2020 cycle that consisted of 23 signees.

With the 2020 recruiting cycle over, it’s time to move onto the 2021 recruiting cycle. To begin our “introduction” to the 2021 cycle, let’s get familiar with the cycle’s recruiting calendar. Please note, that you could view the 2019-2020 recruiting calendar for the FBS level, here. This calendar runs from August 1, 2019 to July 31, 2020. Any dates from August 1, 2020 to February 3rd, 2021 are our educated assumptions based off prior years.

To start off, until March 1st, college football programs are in a dead period. During this time, coaches are not allowed to have any in-person contact with recruits, however, coaches can still talk to 2021 recruits through other means such as texting, social media, or any other non in-person method. Additional dead periods occur June 22 to July 24, August 1 to August 31 (unless you have a game), and approximately December 14 to January 14.

Official Visits:

Class of 2021 prospects can begin taking their official visits starting on April 1st and can do so until June 21st per the 2019-2020 recruiting calendar. Any recruits who don’t take official visits during this period will have the opportunity to do so in the fall/winter.

Early Signing Period:

Early signees in the 2021 recruiting cycle will be able to begin signing with the program of their choices on Wednesday, December 16th. The early signing period will last until that Friday, December 18th.

National Signing Day:

National Signing Day, which begins the second signing period for the 2021 recruiting cycle will be on Wednesday, Feburary 3rd.

Now that we’ve gone over the basic schedule for the 2021 recruiting cycle, let’s get to the prospects and Georgia Tech’s 2021 recruiting efforts.
