Tucker Gleason and Jeff Sims

Gleason is one of two quarterbacks that the Yellow Jackets signed in the 2020 recruiting class as fellow Florida native Jeff Sims also signed with the program. Both Gleason and Sims have already enrolled on The Flats.

Chances are Gleason won’t be the starter this season for the Jackets but being in the program for basically an entire offseason will be an incredible learning experience and chance for growth, early in his career. Gleason was a three-star dual-threat quarterback coming out of Plant High School in Tampa, Florida. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound quarterback was ranked by 247Sport’s composite rankings as the nation’s No.31 dual threat quarterback in 2020.

Sims, on the other hand, has a better chance at starting this season but the chances are still probably a bit low. Sims was a highly-rated dual-threat quarterback coming out of Jacksonville, Florida. Sims has similar size to Gleason at 6-foot-3 and 205-pounds. 247Sports’s ranked him as the No.10 dual threat quarterback and a top-225 player in the nation regardless of position.

Overall, the Yellow Jackets have a few options to say the least at quarterback in 2020. This should be an interesting position battle to watch in the spring and most likely heading into the fall as three or four quarterbacks starting in the summer really have the opportunity to win the job heading into next season.
