The Rest:

Outside of the three running backs named above, there will be three other running backs to keep an eye on this season. Those running backs are Tony Amerson, Devin Ellison, and Dontae Smith. All three running backs were brought in over the last few years but with the breakout of Jordan Mason and the recruitment wins of Jamious Griffin and Jahmyr Gibbs, all three have fallen a bit in the depth chart.

While it remains to be seen, it wouldn’t be shocking to see one or two of these running backs leave in the near future as the Jackets running back room becomes quite crowded. They all have assets to their games that makes them valuable weapons but its’ safe to say that they are still quite a bit below Jordan Mason and Jamious Griffin in terms of how much playing time they’ll probable see in 2020.

Overall, the Yellow Jackets running back room this spring is deep and quite talented. When Jahmyr Gibbs enrolls this summer, it will become even deeper and more talented. While quarterback play dictates most of a team’s success offensively, the Yellow Jackets quarterbacks in 2020 should be a bit more relaxed knowing the talent they have with them in the backfield. Expect the Yellow Jackets to rely heavily on the rushing attack in 2020.
