During a spree of giving out offers on Monday night, the Georgia Tech men’s basketball program extended an offer to elite shooting guard Dillon Hunter.

The Georgia Tech basketball coaching staff won’t have to look far in the 2022 recruiting class to find elite talent. In their backyard is one of the country’s top players in shooting guard Dillon Hunter, a five-star recruit according to ESPN’s player rankings and a four-star according to 247Sports and Rivals. Overall, he’s considered a consensus top-50 prospect in the country by all recruiting services.

Hunter, a 6-foot-3, 170-pound shooting guard, announced the offer on Monday evening via his Twitter account. The Yellow Jackets despite being close to the Westlake standout are not necessarily getting in early on his recruitment as he’s already received offers from numerous programs such as Auburn, Alabama, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia, and Wake Forest have all already offered Hunter.

Also earning offers on Monday night was four-star Emmanuel Sharp (Tampa, FL) and four-star power forward Kok Yat (Norcross, GA). Both are part of the 2022 recruiting cycles.

Currently, the Yellow Jackets do not have any commitments in the 2022 recruiting cycle nor the 2021 recruiting cycle which is currently underway. In the 2020 recruiting cycle, the Jackets picked up three commitments and two transfers including USC transfer Kyle Sturdivant, a Norcross, Georgia native.

Currently, the Yellow Jackets will have the services of star shooting guard / combo guard Michael Devoe for two more seasons which would open a spot right up for someone of Dillon Hunter’s caliber. While it remains to be seen where the Yellow Jackets sit in his recruitment, they certainly have a lot to sell.
