Georgia Tech Football: Three-Star LB Sebastian Sagar Commits to Yellow Jackets
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets received commitment No.17 of the 2021 recruiting class on Monday evening when three-star linebacker Sebastian Sagar committed to the program.
Georgia Tech’s success on the recruiting trail continued on Monday afternoon as they picked up a commitment from Sebastian Sagar, a three-star linebacker originally out of Brooklyn, New York. Sagar has made the move down to Georgia recently and will play for Grayson High School in Loganville this upcoming fall. He announced his college decision via Twitter with the following post;
Sagar’s commitment to the Yellow Jackets comes just two days after the Jackets extended a scholarship offer to Sagar. Beyond the Yellow Jackets, the 6-foot-4, 215-pound linebacker had 13 other scholarship offers which included programs such as Boston College, Miami, Syracuse, and West Virginia. Sagar is ranked by 247Sports as a top-1900 player in the nation, a top-125 outside linebacker, and a top-150 player in the state of Georgia.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Sagar committed to the Jackets despite never visiting campus on an unofficial or official visit. While he may have the opportunity to visit campus by himself and not have any contact with coaches it is still notable though in today’s climate, not a rarity by any stretch.
Already at 6-foot-4, it will be interesting to see if Sagar remains at linebacker for the Yellow Jackets or if he will perhaps make the move to the defensive line where his size will be a better fit and better utilized.
The Yellow Jackets in the 2021 recruiting class have one other linebacker commitment, that being another three-star prospect in Gavin Barthiel out of Lake Gibson High School in Lakeland, Florida. Barthiel committed to the Jackets back in June.
