No.5: Who Will be the No.2 Running Back?

With junior tailback Jordan Mason entering this season as the Jackets starting running back, one of the few players with a starting job locked down, the Jackets will need to figure out who will be his primary backup.

Will the Jackets go with Jamious Griffin who played quite a bit last season as a true freshman? Will it be the true freshman and Dalton (GA) star Jahmyr Gibbs? Perhaps it will be former linebacker and senior Bruce Jordan-Swilling as he returns to the position where he had great success in high school. Then there’s options such as Dontae Smith and Christian Malloy just to name two.

All in all, the Yellow Jackets running back rotation behind Mason is a question mark. They certainly have a good load of talent at the position which also means it will be nearly impossible to appease everyone in the running back room when it comes to playing time this fall.

There’s a handful of guys who realistically could take over that No.2 running back role so it will be interesting to see who gets the nod to back up Jordan Mason.
