The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets received a commitment on Saturday afternoon from three-star in-state safety Sirad Bryant.

Georgia Tech’s 2021 recruiting class got better on Saturday afternoon as three-star safety Sirad Bryant, a native of Cordele, Georgia, and a standout out Crisp County High committed to the Yellow Jackets, becoming commitment No.19 of their recruiting class.

Bryant, committed to the Yellow Jackets over 14 other reported scholarship offers including offers from the likes of Arkansas, Kansas, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and West Virginia. Bryant is rated by 247Sports’s composite rankings as a top-600 player in the nation, a top-50 safety, and a top-50 player in the state of Georgia. Over on Rivals, Bryant is considered a top-40 safety and a top-70 player in the Peach State.

He is the third safety prospect in the 2021 recruiting cycle to join the Jackets. He joins Dracula, Georgia native Kaleb Edwards committed to the Jackets back at the beginning of July and Durham, North Carolina native Shawn Chappell Jr who committed to the program back in late April.

With Bryant’s commitment, the Jackets 2021 recruiting class ranks 33rd in the country by 247Sports and 22nd by Rivals. Quite the disparity between the two but that being said, either way, the Jackets are pushing for a second-straight top-30 recruiting class which was rare prior to the Geoff Collins era.

On the field, Bryant is a defensive back who shows good coverage skills and anticipation of passes and receiving routes. He also has pretty good speed and hands (also plays wide receiver for Crisp County) though we’ll see if he is able to keep those hands once he goes full-time on the defensive side of the ball after arriving on The Flats. There is obviously parts of his game that he needs to work as any prospect does but overall, the Jackets landed safety in Bryant who has a nice foundation with his skillset and with his room to grow could become a starter for the Jackets down the road.
