Georgia Tech Keys to Victory:

1.      Limit the mistakes

Georgia Tech didn’t do this against Florida State in the first half and got lucky that the game didn’t get out of hand early. But against UCF, the Yellow Jackets will have to limit all mistakes because UCF will most definitely take advantage.

2.      Rattle Dillon Gabriel

This is going to be hard but the Jackets will need to get Dillon Gabriel off his game if they hope to win. That means getting to Gabriel on a consistent basis and hitting him, hoping to rattle him and get him off balanced.

3.      Get Jeff Sims rolling early

As the Jackets defense looks to get Dillon Gabriel off his game, the Jackets offense will need to get Jeff Sims rolling early. Allow Sims to get into a comfortable spot like he did early against Florida State, he’ll have to limit his turnovers but if he can get in a groove it will be huge for the Yellow Jackets.

4.      Get the run game going

The run game last week was adequate but against Florida State but it will need to better against UCF. The Jackets have a tremendous trio in Jordan Mason, Jamious Griffin, and Jahmyr Gibbs not to mention Dontae Smith. With plenty of options not to mention, Sims can take of and run, the Jackets have no reason not to have success running the ball.

5.      Special Teams, Special Teams, Special Teams

Outside of punting, last weeks special teams efforts were dismal to say the least. To beat a team like UCF, you need to be good in all three facets of the game. With that, the special teams need to take a huge step forward this weekend.
