The Yellow Jackets this season are 1-1 against the spread, covering in their first game against the Florida State Seminoles (+12.5) but falling to UCF (+7.5). The Orange, on the other hand, are 1-1 against the spread as well, failing to cover against North Carolina (+24) in week two but covering the spread against Pittsburgh (+21) this past weekend.
Saturday’s matchup between the Yellow Jackets and Orange will be the fourth time ever the two programs will have played each other which is surprising considering the historic significance of each program.
All three matchups came after the turn of the millennium, the first coming in 2001, a 13-7 Tech victory in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The second matchup came in 2004, a 51-14 Tech victory in Orlando. The last time the two programs met was 2013 when the Yellow Jackets earned a 56-0 shutout victory over the Orange coming in Atlanta.
With that, this weekend’s game will be the first between the two programs to take place at Syracuse inside the legendary Carrier Dome. Kickoff is currently set for 12:00 p.m. and will be aired on Fox Sports South in Atlanta. Fans outside the Atlanta area can watch the game on ESPN3.
