Last time, Georgia Tech played the Cardinals, the Jackets won 66-31. Here’s what we need to do to repeat that much needed victory this season.

A more efficient quarterback-
Jeff Sims is nervous, excited and probably everything else under the sun right now. His eight Interceptions this season need to be a wake up call. Sims can move on and put them in the past. Turn a new leaf If you will. It’s still early enough in the season for him to turn things around. Once he gets better at feeling his surroundings and recognizing pressure, his confidence will improve. The Cardinals defense won’t give him any chances, that’s for sure.

Our Passing Game
Our receivers have the talent to make huge plays. They’ve just been covered a lot this season. Louisville is fifth in the nation for defense. If they can find a way to get open enough then the cardinals may have their hands full. Of course, this will be a challenge for Tech. Our receivers will have to be quick. They won’t have time to stop and think.

Stopping the run

More from Yellow Jacked Up

We’ve been alright with this. But Louisville really counts on their run game and if Tech could increase pressure they might get some big stops. Our run defense needs to tighten up. They need to have better communication with each other and can work on correcting some of their sloppy mistakes.

Less penalties

I get that the team kinda has a lot of new things happening in every way. Maybe they haven’t really had time to stop and address all their penalties collected in each game. (15 of them in their last match up alone) Nows the time to get serious. Coach Geoff Collins needs to take the time to address these because they can really ruin a good drive. That’s the absolute last thing that Tech needs right now.

The Yellow Jackets and Cardinals kickoff at 7:00 p.m. this evening.
